Label printer
A label printer is a special purpose computer printer that prints on tags, bar codes and self-adhesive labels. There are many types of Label printers available for home, corporate & industrial-oriented models.

Barcode printer
A barcode printer is a computer peripheral that is designed to create barcode labels or tags. There are different types of printers that use different types of print technologies like Thermal transfer print technology or more for the printing of barcodes.

2. Laser
3. Thermal Transfer

Differences between a barcode printer and a label printer
1. A Label Printer is also known as a computer printer as they print on tags, self-adhesive labels whereas Barcode Printer uses either direct thermal or thermal transfer techniques to apply ink to print barcode or labels.
2. Label printers are different from other printers because they need a special mechanism to provide and handle rolled label or tear sheet stock so it can print on Label with maintaining proper distance on tear sheet whereas Barcode Printer is a printer designed to produce barcode labels which can be attached to other objects.
3. Label Printers are maximally used in Transport Industry, Lottery & betting, Health Care, Supermarkets and Grocery Stores, Libraries whereas Barcode printers can be used for small business to industrial use, and are most commonly used for shipping products.
4. Label Printers and printing costs of these printers are expensive compared to Barcode printing which is very less and cost-effective.
5. Label Printers Are Practical and Creative Tools whereas Barcode Printers which are Essential POS Devices for Business.
6. Label printers come in all forms from personal printer to commercial printer whereas Barcode Printers mostly come in a portable form.
